 Todd, our local regular Designated Pilot Examiner, is a bit large to fit into an LSA

 Art is smaller and lighter than Todd, so he gave Sport Pilot checkrides to AvSport graduates. But, he has now retired from his DPE activities.

 Upon Art's retirement, John took over the DPE role for Sport Pilot graduates

 But John's availability is limited, due to his fulltime airline job. So, David had to wait three months for a checkride!

 Thus, Paul was motivated to fill out a lengthy DPE application form (this is just the first page)

 Then, Paul had to complete Initial DPE Training, part 1 (a course which is offered online)

 Next step was to complete a week-long FAA DPE training course in Oklahoma City
